Policies

Attendance & Cancellation Policy

  • Missed Group Classes are non-refundable unless the school cancels the class.
  • There are NO make up lessons for missed Group Classes
  • If a student is unable to attend the group class, the instructor will email the homework.
  • If the instructor is sick, the class will either be taught by another instructor or rescheduled to another date.
  • MSI Langley reserves the right to cancel any group classes that do not have sufficient enrolment. A full refund will be issued in that case

Lesson & Holiday Schedule for the 2026-2027 School Term

  • Lessons will begin Tuesday Sept. 8th, 2026 and end on Wednesday June 30th, 2027.
  • Mondays – 35 lessons
  • Tuesdays – 39 lessons
  • Wednesdays – 37 lessons
  • Thursdays – 38 lessons
  • Fridays – 38 lessons
  • Saturdays – 37 lessons
  • Sundays – 38 lessons
  • Lessons that are not included in the school term are Truth and Reconciliation Day (Sept. 30th), Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 12th), Remembrance Day (Nov. 11th), Christmas Break (Dec. 21st-Jan. 3rd), Family Day (Feb. 15th), Spring Break (March 15th– March 28th), Victoria Day (May 24th) and Recital Day (Saturday, June 5th). *Please note: We remain OPEN for lessons on Thanksgiving Weekend (Sat/Sun), Easter Monday, and Victoria Day Weekend (Sat/Sun).
  • Monthly Program fee is based on equalized payments over 10 months from September through June. Lesson date changes during the year may change the monthly tuition.

Withdrawal

  •  September – June School Term:
    • Students wishing to discontinue lessons before April 1st of that school term, must notify the Music School one (1) month in advance in writing. If notice is not received, the student will continue to be charged for lessons.
    • Upon termination of lessons, any prepaid lessons not taken will be refunded to the student (excluding those that fall within one (1) month of withdrawal).
    • April 1st is the last day for students to withdraw from lessons with a month’s notice. After this date, the tuition will continue to be charged until the end of the current school term. Withdrawal notice must be given in writing. **Exceptions to this policy will be made if you are moving out of the area, or for compassionate grounds such as a prolonged illness (in this case a doctor’s note will be required.)**
  •  July – August Summer Term:
    • Summer Private Lesson Fees are due upon registration.
    • Summer Lessons are non-refundable.

    Lesson Payments

All lessons are paid for in advance. Music Schools International Langley REQUIRES that lesson payments be made through PREAUTHORIZED bank debit. The first 4 lessons must be paid for prior to starting lessons after which the automatic payments will take effect. Payment on a weekly basis is not permitted. A $25.00 NSF Fee will be charged on ALL returned/failed payments. Please note that the bank requires ten business days to cancel preauthorized bank debit.
